Mothers Wellness | United Kingdom 2023
Welcome to our Mothers Wellness Program – a transformative initiative that began as a pilot project in June 2022. Originally designed for single mothers, this program has evolved into a welcoming space for all mothers, fostering lasting connections, promoting mental wellbeing, eliminating isolation, and providing essential peer support.
Following the success of our initial pilot project, where the need for support became evident across all mothers, we made a crucial decision to rename the program to simply “Mothers Wellness” – a testament to our commitment to inclusivity.
The impact of the program on the lives of attending mothers has been profound. Many participants have reported significant improvements in their mental health and a newfound confidence in engaging with fellow mothers. The heartfelt testimonials below exemplify the positive changes witnessed within the Redbridge community:
- “Just having these sessions has made a world of difference. I wish I had known about them sooner, as I struggled mentally alone at home. These sessions are incredibly relaxed, and I’ve felt much happier mentally and emotionally.”
- “Meeting and chatting with other women, as simple as it sounds, has been emotionally uplifting.”
- “Building friendships with mothers in my community has been invaluable.”
Made possible by the National Community Fund, our program is flourishing week by week. Over 20 mothers, along with their babies and toddlers, actively participate, engaging in mental wellness activities, interacting with fellow mothers, and providing their children with a supportive space for play that aids in cognitive development.
As we approach our third year, we are committed to ensuring the sustainability of this vital program for all mothers. We are reaching out to you, our community, for support in making this initiative a lasting resource.
