— Our Programs

Driving Change Through Action

Four integrated programs addressing the interconnected challenges facing communities across Africa and the UK

Stress to Strength is our youth-focused education and mental wellbeing outreach programme. It supports young people in underserved communities to access education, learning materials, and practical life skills, while strengthening mental resilience and emotional wellbeing.

The programme runs through annual week-long education outreach activities, workshops, and year-round mentoring initiatives. These include youth motivation and purpose discovery, monthly group mentoring and life skills sessions, continuous community learning platforms, and an annual men’s empowerment event that promotes positive masculinity and peer support.

Holistic ApproachAddresses both education and mental health to improve long-term outcomes for young people
Key Issues TackledYouth suicide, substance misuse, teenage pregnancy, mental health disorders, unemployment, school dropout, and crime
Where We WorkKenya (rural communities in Kandara), Zimbabwe (Women’s University in Africa, Catholic University of Zimbabwe, Goromonzi communities)

Radiance is our women-centred programme designed to support mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing across different stages of life. It places women and girls at the centre of community wellbeing through peer-led, community-driven support.

Mothers’ Wellness ClubsSafe spaces for mothers, including pre- and postnatal support to build community and reduce isolation
Comprehensive SupportMental health support, physical wellness, nutrition education, and social connection
Community Wellness HubAccess to training, psychosocial support, sexual and reproductive health education, and family-focused initiatives

SEED is our family-focused programme tackling food insecurity, poverty, and unemployment through sustainable farming and skills development. It supports households to grow food, generate income, and build long-term economic resilience.

We are building a self-sustaining model because impact should not end when funding runs out. Through SEED, farming becomes more than food — it becomes a solution to hunger, a pathway to income generation, and a way to sustainably fund community programmes.

Our BeliefReal impact goes beyond short-term interventions. Lasting change happens when communities are empowered to lead, grow, and sustain their own development
OutcomesImproved nutrition, increased income, sustainable livelihoods, and community-led solutions that thrive for generations

Mental health is a global problem which needs global attention and awareness. The Africa Healing Foundation launched its mental health campaign initiative Mindplug #yourmindmatter.

The pandemic exposed how deeply rooted mental health problems exist in people’s lives. We have launched our Mindplug campaign in two countries, Zimbabwe, and the UK, with plans to expand in other countries in the future.

The Africa Healing Foundation mental health strategy seeks to bridge a gap between the people and getting mental health services. We are campaigning to end the mental health stigma and make mental health accessible to marginalized communities.

Be That Man

INITIATIVE 01

Be That Man

At Africa Healing Foundation, our ‘Be That Man’ campaign is not just an idea but a signature of us standing in the gap of realising the need of mental health support to men.

We want to promote mental wellbeing for men and provide a platform for the men to feel safe to use their voice and speak out. Suicide is the leading cause of the death for men just under 50.

We want men to seek support before they get to crisis point and therefore implementing measures that support early prevention and intervention.

Maternal Mental Health

INITIATIVE 02

Maternal Mental Health: Mothers Wellness

Depression and anxiety are known to be the most common mental health problems according to the NICE guidelines with around 12% of women experiencing depression and 13% experiencing anxiety at some point.

We are working to support mother mental wellbeing. The objective is to improve their mental wellbeing and build their confidence to help them to thrive in their communities.

This will be a safe space for mothers to receive mental health support through psycho education, resilience and confidence building workshops, peer led and group activities.

Mental Health Corner

INITIATIVE 03

Mental Health Corner

Our mental health corner is a WhatsApp community where we provide support, psychoeducation, life coaching skills and a safe community to discuss mental health issues.

It also seeks to eliminate barriers to information and support for mental health. In addition to that we provide valuable information on self-development and financial literacy.

If you’re looking for support and a safe community or just want to learn more about mental health and yourself, then join us today from anywhere in the world by emailing info@africahealing.org.
